Over 700 people braved the cold this morning for the first MEC Calgary 5k/10k/half marathon race of 2018! Yes it was colder than predicted, but c'mon not that cold for January! We saw lots of smiles on faces as they crossed the finish line, proud to be shaking off the cobwebs off their running shoes after the holidays. One man ran topless (yes NO SHIRT), to raise awareness for Inn from the Cold - nice work!

It was a stunning fall morning here down in Bragg Creek with the trees a golden arch for the brutal ski hill! Lots of fans came out to cheer on the brave souls tackling the course. There's going to be lots of sore bodies tomorrow!
Man o man... although it was frosty and COLD this morning we lucked out again with the weather and it was blue skies and sunshine for race start. 120 soloists and 7 teams braved the near freezing temperatures to tackle this tough duathlon course... the cows making it extra fun by standing in the middle of the trails/highway and leaving stinky reminders for everyone to enjoy. Post race BBQ by All Beef Catering and SO MANY yummy desserts by Kath Dorsey finished off this great event.
