Blitz Snowshoe 5km Fun Run -- February 26th, 2011
Be a part of the fastest growing outdoor winter activity and the fastest new emerging sport, snowshoeing. The Blitz Snowshoe Fun Run will be a great day where you will hike or run through terrain that may include: single track, double track, cat track, up and down ski runs, open fields of fresh powder and much more.
A 5km snowshoe trail designed for all ages and abilities. Whether you have personal goals and challenges you need to meet and exceed or just want to get out with the family and enjoy winter in Alberta, this event will be fun for all.

Why Blitz?
Blitz Events is a charitable organization that was created to bring fun and unique events to Albertans through outdoor activities in both the winter and summer months. We strive to create an atmosphere that is fun and memorable for all our participants and take pride in the fact that we are able to market to a diverse group of individuals who enter the Blitz Events for different reasons. At our last event, the Blitz Duathlon on September 26, 2009, we were able to create an event that challenged more competitive athletes while at the same time provided a non-threatening atmosphere for those who had never previously completed a race. In fact, we had one participant who had signed up for 8 different races in her life and the Blitz Duathlon was the first one that she attended. The Blitz organization views success stories like this one as a sign that we are effectively pursuing our mandate.
It is our goal that each year we have many returning participants and continue to grow in numbers. In order to ensure that we reach this goal, the Blitz organization strives to provide all participants a fun and laid back atmosphere with great race package, finisher prizes for all age groups (both male and female), numerous door prizes given out throughout the day, food and refreshments to participants and spectators after the event, and Blitz apparel for each participant.
