Blitz Events was originally created to get more people active and enjoying the winter months in Canada. We wanted a fun and unique event that could be enjoyed by all fitness levels and ages, and so the Blitz Duathlon was created. However, after hosting the first Blitz Event and seeing how much the participants enjoyed and appreciated such a well organized and successful event, we fell in love with the idea of creating more fun, challenging and unique events. We wanted to create other fun events that would allow more then just runners and triathletes the opportunity to participate and succeed. Currently Blitz Events now hosts three events in and around Calgary: The Snowshoe Fun Run, Adventure Run, and the Duathlon. By creating a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere we have reached our goal of creating rare events that are enjoyable, challenging, that give the feeling of success, and provide further motivation to individuals who have never participated in an athletic event.

Our events are one way to motivate individuals to get active and stay healthy, but mostly we are outgoing and active individuals who just want to share our love with the outdoors, a little competition, and the amazing feeling that comes with finishing a race. As we move forward we look to provide more fun, challenging and rewarding events for as many people as possible.

The inspirational atmosphere that Blitz Events creates during each of our outdoor races is enhanced by the generous contributions from local sponsors. We feel that it is important to partner with local vendors who take an active interest in contributing to events that promote an active and healthy lifestyle for Albertans. All donations made from sponsors are used to create a memorable and successful experience for our participants. It is our goal that each year we have many returning participants and continue to grow in numbers. In order to ensure that we reach this goal, the Blitz organization takes all donations and puts them back into each race to provide all participants with a great race package, finisher prizes, numerous door prizes given throughout the day, food and refreshments to participants and spectators after the event, and Blitz apparel for each participant.

In appreciation for sponsoring Blitz Events, we strive to market your company as much as possible. As a sponsor of Blitz Events, your company will be advertised on our website and Facebook fan page where we have direct contact with hundreds of active individuals. Over the past two years we have also developed a large data base of e-mail addresses and Facebook fans who have experienced Blitz Events. We use this contact information during the year to stay in touch with Blitz participants as this has proven to be an effective way to cultivate a loyal group of repeat participants.
